Kofi
M. Amouzou '98 recently visited West Africa with
his wife, Director of Admissions Megan Amouzou, and their
two sons to work with The Children of Lavié, a non-profit
organization they founded in 2002 to promote primary and
secondary education in Togo, Benin, Senegal and Burkina
Faso. Besides helping to pay school fees, the organization
strives to equip children in the region with the ability
to succeed and act as catalysts for change and development
in their communities. It is also planning the first ever
library in the village of Lavié, Togo which would
serve more than 35,000 students. Amouzou, center, is pictured
here with some of the 1,700 children the organization has
helped through tuition assistance. |
